"Still, to this day, a lot of information is confusing people. Terms are used wrongly, or things are taken out of context. That is why cannabis growers need guides that are simple, straightforward, and tell the truth," says Jorge Cervantes. For 40 years, Jorge has been helping cannabis growers with his books on cultivation. "When I started, there was pretty much no scientific knowledge concerning cannabis, especially about indoor growing. Among all the misinformation, I've been telling growers the truth." Jorge's newest book 'We Grow Cannabis' is the first in a new digital process he is starting.
Telling growers the truth
Over the years, with more and more countries legalizing cannabis, cultivation knowledge has, of course, increased significantly. Yet there is still so much misinformation out there that cannabis growers are in need of access to proper knowledge, Jorge says. "There is misinformation, sales-oriented information, and incomplete information. Since legalization, there have been a lot of new, well-educated people entering the marketplace. They have degrees in botany, microbiology, and breeding, for example. That is, of course, great, but then their information gets taken out of context by other people."
As a result, Jorge sees a need to help cannabis growers access truthful information. "There is a lot of interest in such guides that are simple and straightforward. Also, I'm very fortunate to work with people that are well-educated and know what they're talking about. For this new e-book, for example, I worked with Stefan Martin Meyer and Seedsman's Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Gary Yates. It's wonderful to have access to these smart, well-educated people and get to share their knowledge with growers."
Going digital
'We Grow Cannabis' is Jorge's first book that has been published online in a PDF format. "It was becoming expensive to make a physical book: it costs too much to print them, transport and store them. Moreover, a digital version has many advantages. It is easy to access, and you can even use search functions, making it very user-friendly." According to Jorge, this is just the beginning. "Over time, we will put all my stuff online for free, in every language that makes sense. Growers deserve easy access to truthful information, and we're aiming to build a community."
The 'We Grow Cannabis' e-book provides beginner and advanced growers with an easy-to-follow, free-to-access collection of cultivation wisdom. The 100-page digital book is a cohesive guide to growing cannabis indoors, accompanied by over 270 high-quality photographs, images, and descriptive text. "The book covers many topics, from basic botany to harvesting and pests and diseases. It includes everything a cannabis grower needs to know."
The We Grow Cannabis e-book is available here.
