US (AL): 90 MMJ business applications advance for review process

The Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission (AMCC) voted to formally deem 90 business applications during its meeting, meaning those applications will now go through a review, evaluation, and scoring process.

The application for licenses closed on December 30, 2022.

Among the 90 applications advancing to the review process, there are 38 integrated facility applications, 18 dispensary applications, 12 cultivator applications, 11 processor applications, nine secure transporter applications, and two state testing laboratory applications.

“We are excited to be one step closer to program implementation,” AMCC Director John McMillan stated in a release Thursday. “Now that we have our official slate of applicants, the sixty-day window to review applications has started.”
