Martin Quintal, Futur Vert:

“The internal driver increases the reliability and life span of the lights”

“We have developed a special spectrum to optimize cannabis yield and THC, with a special blend of 2 white chips and RED 660nm infrared,” says Martin Quintal, President of Futur Vert. The Canadian company manufactures grow lights, specializing in cannabis and vertical farms. “With our Asian partner, we have developed an internal driver to have an all-in-one light. The benefit of having the driver internal of the side beam is to have the best heat sink and heat distribution all over the fixture. This help in the thermal management of the light, decreasing heat stress on the LED board to increase reliability and life span.”

According to Martin, customers are looking for more than high efficiency and a good full spectrum: customer support is also very important. “We are a Canadian company with someone who answers the phone. Such local support makes a big difference. When our customers have a problem, they can count on our help. Moreover, Futur Vert is able to customize their lights according to the customer’s request. “Also, our lights are certified by many third parties, like DLC. Therefore, growers can get a grant when buying our lights of up to 75% of the cost of the light.”

When it comes to the future, Futur Vert continues to focus on making better lights, better spectrum, and higher efficiency for healthier plants (more yield per Watt). All the while keeping a major focus on the vertical farming industry. “The vertical farming market has been booming because of the pandemic, and high temperatures and drought. An indoor farm always supplies the perfect environment, which people have seen the benefit of more and more.” Within 5 years, the company is hoping to get into the Dubai market and expand more in the U.S. “We are always looking for new markets and to work with local distributors or consultants.”
