Miriam Goldstein, Smart Fog:

“The non-wetting technology creates an even humidity, without damaging plants and equipment”

“Our humidification systems provide a reliable and efficient solution for the grower to achieve the correct humidity in the different grow stages,” says Miriam Goldstein, Sales Manager at Smart Fog. While the company works with over 100 different industries, they have seen an increase in demand from the cannabis industry. “Because of our non-wetting technology, the humidification doesn’t damage the plant or the equipment in the room. Cannabis growers notice that they get a better quality product with an increase in yield.”

A unique technology
According to Miriam, Smart Fog’s non-wetting technology is unique and patented. “Our humidifiers produce a really fine fog, which we call self-evaporating droplets. We’re able to get 100% absorption of the moisture that we’re producing in the environment. With other humidifiers, you often see that the humidity stays around the humidifier. With our technology, that doesn’t happen, and you get even humidity throughout the room. During production, all plants must get an even humidity so that you don’t get an inconsistent grow and quality.”

Miriam explains that such a technology is an important development for the industry. “Especially at the start of the cannabis industry, growers were buying cheaper systems. They were then noticing that it was destroying the equipment in the room, rusting the lights, and wetting the plants, for example. With the Smart Fog System, growers found that it wasn’t damaging the plants or equipment in the room – unlike other systems they used in the past.”

The systems are also energy efficient. “Even though a compressor is needed to run the system, it is still 90% more energy efficient than a steam-type humidifier. This is the case because the system is very resource efficient. Whatever water it consumes goes into the environment completely, making it both energy and resource-efficient. As a result, we’re not wasting any energy to produce the humidity,” Miriam explains.

Increasing demand
Smart Fog notices that there is an increasing demand from large companies. “These larger corporations are setting up facilities around other parts of the U.S. that are just getting legal. They don’t want to make the mistakes they made in other places, so now they’re looking for better quality equipment from the start.”

“In the cannabis industry, it’s important to get the right systems that help you rather than creates more damage,” Miriam adds. “We’re proud to be able to offer that solution and hope more growers will use our systems to help their business.”
