Heliospectra revealed a range of new fixtures dedicated to the modern horticultural market at GreenTech 2023. "Our fixtures are characterized by their efficiency of up to 3.7 µmol. On top of that, the fixtures can be dimmed wirelessly and controlled effortlessly. This ensures energy savings", the team says.
New fixtures
One of the new fixtures is the Mitra X, a 650- or 850-watt fixture that controls two light bars from a single power supply unit (PSU). The Mitra X offers several spectra options, ranging from 40% to 80% red. In addition, there is an option to equip the Mitra X with a fixed Ver Red spectrum.
The Ceres, a 1000-watt fixture, can be equipped with a spectrum ranging from 60% to 90% red. This makes it a replacement for conventional 1000-watt fixtures. The optics in the feature ensure a balanced light distribution.
Flex fixtures
Both the Mitra X and the Ceres have a Flex version. This version allows growers to choose between PAR only light, PAR with Far Red, or Far Red only. This fixture is also wirelessly dimmable as standard. This allows one to get the most out of the crop and achieve maximum energy savings.
Wireless Dimming
All Heliospectra fixtures are wirelessly dimmable using our advanced Adelphi control unit. This unit operates via LoRa technology, which guarantees stable connections in horticultural environments. Wireless dimming can even be added afterward without modifying the fixture.
Software
The HelioCORE software not only allows one to dim the fixtures but it also allows users to configure different lighting zones, which makes the implementation of various lighting recipes easy. Thus, when replacing fixtures 1 to 1, one can easily create a damboard circuit even if the system is not set up for this purpose.
The DLI controller allows the user to set the desired DLI levels. Using wireless sensors and real-time weather forecasts, the system calculates the optimal lighting duration to achieve the set DLI. Several field trials have shown that this can result in additional energy savings of 10-30% in addition to the normal savings of LED lighting. Controlling the fixtures can also be done via the various climate computers.
