US: Ohio green lights adult-use cannabis, what it means for local growers

Ohio is the 24th state to legalize recreational cannabis after voters passed Issue 2, but there are a lot of questions in the weeks before the law goes into effect.

That's going to be a boom for folks like Caveh Azadeh, a co-founder of King City Gardens, a medical marijuana cultivation facility in Forest Park. It will eventually produce marijuana for recreational sale.

"We were super excited. We were all optimistic this year with the recreational side of things. But to see the turnout and then see overwhelming votes was not only very exciting but also, I think, the right move for the state of Ohio," Azadeh said.

Azadeh said it will take about nine months for King City Gardens to build facilities for recreational products. The program is only legal for people ages 21 and over. You will be able to possess up to two and a half ounces of cannabis, as well as grow up to six plants individually or up to 12 plants for a household.
