Mauro assumes the role as Senior Operations Manager at the Genetia operation in Prague
With an illustrious career spanning 17 years in plant biotechnology for companies in Argentina, Mexico, USA, and Belgium, Mauro brings a
wealth of expertise in clonal propagation, genetic improvement, and the proficient management of research and development projects. Besides being the General Manager at NSIP, his extensive background includes the successful development and implementation of commercial protocols for young plant clonal material production, the breeding of new varieties, and the execution of applied R&D initiatives for global institutions and companies.
In his role as Senior Operations Manager at Genetia Production, Mauro will spearhead several key responsibilities, including overseeing the production of all plant varieties to meet production forecasts. Additionally, Mauro will manage the microbiology lab, offer support to external nursery partners, and actively contribute to the Management and Sales team's business development activities. His commitment to personal growth and learning, combined with his vast experience, positions Mauro as a valuable asset to Genetia as they continue to lead in the field of plant biotechnology. The company eagerly anticipates achieving new milestones under Mauro's strategic leadership and innovative approach.
Thomas takes the helm as Director of Cultivation at the Mar Medika Project for Genetia in North Macedonia
Thomas, MSc Plant Sciences, Greenhouse Horticulture at the Wageningen University, has established a commendable track record of achieving operational excellence in controlled environment agriculture. His journey encompasses pivotal roles as a greenhouse operator and
leader, overseeing end-to-end cannabis cultivation and growth programs. Notably, he played a key role in the design, construction, and successful implementation of one of the most acclaimed large-scale organic greenhouse production systems in the Canadian cannabis industry while working at Rubicon Organics.
At the forefront of Thomas's responsibilities within the Mar Medika project will be the strategic direction and management of the cultivation team to meet production timelines.
As Director of Cultivation, Thomas will play a crucial role in fostering continuous improvement in cultivation practices while ensuring pre and post-harvest procedures align with Good Agricultural and Manufacturing Practices (GACP and GMP) and combining technical expertise R&D to drive operational excellence. Tasked with adapting all activities to support company-wide performance, Thomas is poised to lead initiatives that will shape the success of the Mar Medika venture.
