US Department of Energy:

Event: Innovations in Combined Heat and Power (CHP)

In a US Department of Energy coordinated event taking place at Sacramento, California, on December 12, the possibilities of CHP in controlled environment agriculture will be discussed.

Innovations in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) - DOE Western CHP TAP - IN-PERSON - December 12, 2023 (9 am - 12 pm)

"Designed for commercial Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) operations and food producers, this introductory class will delve into the world of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and CEA synergies," the organizers share.

"Discover how these technologies can transform your business or farming operations while conserving land and water. With CHP, you'll learn how to enhance energy efficiency and reduce waste by generating both electricity and thermal energy from a single source. When integrated with CEA, you can harness this thermal energy to improve growing conditions for your crops for year-round productivity. Furthermore, discover the added benefit of carbon capture technology and environmental responsibility. By capturing and mitigating carbon emissions, you play a role in reducing your carbon footprint. This, in turn, contributes to a cleaner, more sustainable world."

The event will include talks of Carol Denning, Director - DOE CHP TAP, Erik Blackburn, Ass. Director – DOE CHP TAP, Kurt Parbst - Borlaug, Dick Kramp - AB Energy, Paul Hewitt - Enrgistx, and Scott Dolan - Windset Farms.
