LED lighting expansion offers spectrums for every stage of cannabis growth

Signify announced the expansion of its Philips GreenPower LED gridlighting portfolio. Developed for indoor cannabis cultivation, the grid-lighting product expansion now offers spectral offerings engineered for optimal cannabis production along with a wider voltage range. The expanded Philips LED gridlighting portfolio offers two new cannabis-specific spectra. The Efficient White spectrum is optimized for superior plant development during the vegetative stage, while the Efficient Broad White spectrum is the most efficient solution for flowering stages at ~3.0 μmol/J. Additionally, the new gridlighting 1.1 now supports a broader range of voltages, spanning from 120 to 480V, making it more accessible to various cultivation applications and facilities.

With its six light bars, the Philips grid-lighting is optimized to cover a 4'x4' area, providing flawless canopy light uniformity to steer uniform bud development and grow more top-shelf flowers. The Philips LED grid-lighting offers several features designed specifically to improve production and operational efficiency:

  • Movable hang hooks for installation flexibility and ease
  • Ventilation holes for proper airflow and to help regulate temperature
  • Covered boards make cleaning easier, which, in turn, slows light depreciation
  • Polycarbonate-covering enables superior optical performance for greater uniformity
  • Easy dimmability with 3rd party 0 – 10 V controls
  • Efficacy ranging from 2.7 to 3.3 µmol/J

"We collected feedback from commercial cannabis growers to further extend the Philips LED portfolio and bring the grid-lighting to market," says Udo van Slooten, Business Leader of Philips Horticulture LED lighting. "With the grid-lighting expansion, we now have a Philips LED lighting solution for every type of grow, both greenhouse and indoor, single layer or multi-layer, and for every stage of growth, from propagation to veg to flower."

"The launch of the Philips GreenPower LED gridlighting 1.1 is a testament to our commitment to providing innovative LED lighting solutions that meet the unique needs of growers. With this new lighting solution, commercial cannabis growers have access to efficient lighting solutions for every stage of growth, allowing them to maximize their yield and manage energy costs more effectively," the company says.
