National Cannabis Roundtable welcomes first Senior Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisor

The National Cannabis Roundtable (NCR) announced the appointment of Precious Osagie-Erese as the organization's first Senior Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Advisor. With a proven track record of championing for social equity and criminal justice reform policies, Osagie-Erese brings a wealth of experience and expertise to further enhance the commitment of NCR and its members to fostering an inclusive and equitable cannabis industry.

Osagie-Erese is a serial cannabis industry entrepreneur, DEI advocate, and a trained communications professional. She is the founder and CEO of Precious Canna Co., the first Black woman-owned cannabis pre-roll brand in New Jersey. She also co-founded Roll Up Life, Inc. in 2019 after noticing the lack of minority representation in the cannabis industry, particularly in the ancillary and logistics sector. Osagie-Erese also served as the Director of Communications at Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA), a national cannabis trade association with a mission to create equal access for cannabis businesses and economically empower communities of color through policy, programming, and outreach initiatives. She is the 2022 Minorities for Medical Marijuana (M4MM) DEI Champion of the Year and is listed as the NJBIZ Next Generation of Leaders.

"We are delighted to welcome Precious Osagie-Erese to the National Cannabis Roundtable as our Senior DEI Advisor," said Saphira Galoob, Executive Director of the National Cannabis Roundtable. "Precious brings a unique blend of skills and experiences, including a deep understanding of operations and policy as a cannabis entrepreneur, communications strategist, and a hyper-local community advocate. Her previous accomplishments in leading DEI initiatives make her an invaluable addition to the NCR team."

Osagie-Erese was tapped as the editor for the inaugural National Cannabis Roundtable 2022-2023 Corporate Social Responsibility Report, a comprehensive report highlighting the collective efforts of NCR member companies and the organization's commitment to significantly create impact in the areas of 1) social equity and criminal justice reform; 2) equity in business opportunity; 3) workforce utilization; and 4) public health. Drawing on her extensive background in DEI initiatives, Precious will continue to work closely with NCR leadership in her new role to assess current practices, develop action plans, and implement policies that create an impact for all members of the cannabis community.

"I am honored to join the National Cannabis Roundtable and contribute to the organization's commitment to be proponents of change and using collective efforts to ensure equity is at the forefront of the cannabis industry," said Precious Osagie-Erese, Senior DEI Advisor for the National Cannabis Roundtable. "I look forward to working collaboratively with NCR members to implement initiatives that not only reflect the diversity of our industry but also create opportunities for all individuals to thrive."
