Remarkable news from KUBO. The greenhouse-building company claims to launch a revolutionary cultivation strategy: CO2 Negative Cultivation. "This groundbreaking approach marks a step towards sustainable horticulture and contributes to global efforts to combat climate change. This innovation can transform horticulture from a CO2 emitter to a CO2 reducer", the team says.
KUBO says to introduce a system where greenhouses not only drastically reduce their own CO2 emissions but also remove more CO2 from the atmosphere than they emit. They're not revealing any details, but say this innovative method uses advanced techniques to significantly improve the sustainability of greenhouses.
Innovative cultivation strategy
"The new cultivation strategy has been extensively tested on tomatoes in our advanced Blue Lab test center", says Wouter Kuiper, CEO of KUBO. Although the tests have been successfully conducted on tomatoes, the technology is applicable to various vegetable crops."
KUBO continues to test to further optimize efficiency and effectiveness. This year, an independent party will verify the results to ensure the reliability of the findings. "KUBO is a pragmatic company. When our Blue Lab research team makes a discovery, it is thoroughly tested and quickly brought to market," Wouter adds. "When we get the green light, it has to go to market."
