US (VT): Vermont cannabis industry seeks pathway for CBD hemp, cannabis prerolls

Vermont businesses are calling for a way for compliance agents to sign off on pre-rolls containing cannabis and CBD hemp.

"A lot of folks in this industry want to be a little creative with products that we put out there," Dave Silberman, co-owner of FLORA Cannabis in Middlebury, told the Vermont Cannabis Control Board on Aug. 28. "And one thing that I know we're looking at and other folks are looking at is trying to make pre-rolls with both cannabis and hemp in order to do a higher CBD content."

A pathway to meet the compliance team's approval on product registration appears to be missing, Silberman said."To me, that seems like something that could maybe use a little bit of higher-level thought from the board guidance to the compliance team as to what it is they should be looking for to ensure safety on this stuff," he said. "It doesn't seem like a thing that should be prohibited. There should be ways to ensure consumer safety."
