Four individuals are in custody in Sonoma County Jail after allegedly burglarizing a cannabis cultivation warehouse in Santa Rosa early Friday morning, police said. At 2:44 a.m. Friday, the Santa Rosa Police Department received a notification of multiple alarm activations at a warehouse in the 3000 block of Wiljan Court.
According to police, officers arrived on the scene to see a gray Nissan Altima fleeing the area. Despite the officers' attempts to stop the vehicle, the Altima continued north on Corby Avenue before heading south on U.S. Highway 101 and out of city limits.
The car chase continued south on Highway 101 and into Marin County, where California Highway Patrol officers deployed a tire deflation device. The Altima drove over the device and with damaged tires it attempted to travel east on Interstate Highway 580. The driver stopped the car prior to reaching the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.
While the chase ensued, officers confirmed that two windows were broken at the cannabis cultivation facility and products were stolen. The stolen products and tools used to break into the business were found in the Altima upon inspection, police said.
