Photo report: Cannabis Summit 2025

There's much going on in the cannabis industry, and with Netherlands being one countries with an extensive history in both cannabis and horticulture, it deserves an event focused exclusively on cannabis. With that in mind, last Friday the Cannabis Summit was organized in World Horti Center, Netherlands.

The event united approximately 100 visitors from various industries and ensured they left the day up-to-date about the cannabis market trends (hello Europe!), sustainable cultivation techniques (AI sounds nice, but what do you do with it? And actually, the same goes for LEDs).

Paul Depla, mayor of Dutch city Breda, updated the visitors on the history of the Dutch cannabis market, the infamous 'gedoogbeleid' and the current status of the cannabis experiment. Although the experiment leads to more legal cannabis being consumed in favor over illecit grown cannabis, even though the rules in the current experiment make it hard to connect the market demand to the growers.

The day continued with panels focused on investment strategies and Due Dilligence in the cannabis industry, international cannabis law and regulations, the role of technology in cannabis cultivation and concluded with a panel discussion on supply-chain management, sustainability and utilities in cannabis production.
