"Odor and pest control remain key challenges for cannabis growers"

Considering how highly valuable the cannabis crop is, it goes without saying that large-scale cultivation can have many financial advantages. However, this comes with a whole set of challenges, especially when it comes to controlling pests and pathogens. On top of that, cannabis growers have to deal with something else: odor. Unlike other crops, cannabis cultivation must also avoid creating 'odor nuisances' in the surrounding area. A possible solution could be carbon filters or ionization systems, but these have high energy costs and take up a lot of space. After all, sacrificing space that could be devoted to canopy ultimately means giving up potential revenue.

That is why Tuprotect has developed the Airmaster system. "This system uses less energy than other systems. The Airmaster is normally placed above the crop, where odor and pests usually hang," says Lies van Geest. "This ensures more effective control, guaranteeing up to 98% odor removal. This is particularly important for growers who need to control this variable as well to maintain the necessary permits. Another characteristic of the Airmaster is that it reduces both mold and pest pressure."
