It's the last and final day of ICBC 2025 in Berlin today. The show must have been quite intense yesterday, as exhibitors took their time gathering at the venue this morning. It is much quieter across the halls, but things slowly became livelier.

Walking through the different booths and talking to the cannabis professionals around, you're met with overall positive feelings - not only about the show but also about the European market. One aspect that was repeatedly praised was the composition of the crowd: serious attendees with little to no partygoers, which can sometimes be an issue at cannabis trade shows. This is certainly a positive aspect of ICBC, which maintains its professional flair, offering space for cannabis companies to talk business rather than attracting those looking for the latest smoking paraphernalia.
Speaking of the European market, there's a widespread sentiment that cannabis coming from Canada and Portugal doesn't always meet the highest standards. A clear solution to this is more diversity in supply.

Considering most of the cannabis business in Europe is medical, it's no surprise that many suppliers are leaning toward 'clean cannabis'. For instance, one could see new organic fertilizers being promoted, as well as a new decontamination machine that uses steam.
As expected, LED lights and vertical racks are as popular as ever, so any grower interested in these types of solutions has plenty of options to choose from.

However, not everything was about medical cannabis, as the adult-use market in Germany still presents opportunities - however small in comparison to the medical sector. Interestingly, growing containers were promoted as a way for cannabis clubs to cultivate their products. These clubs are not large-scale operations like those in North America or parts of Europe, meaning their cultivation is quite small in size. Containers could be a turnkey solution to jump-start one of these cannabis clubs, though it remains to be seen whether they will prove to be truly efficient.

That's it for this year's edition of ICBC 2025 in Berlin. Tomorrow, we'll publish our photo report of the event, with a more in-depth coverage of the two-day show.
