GreenTech Amsterdam 2025 to look at future of horticulture

GreenTech Amsterdam 2025 will feature 80 knowledge sessions showcasing the latest trends, technologies, and sustainable growth in horticulture. Highlights include knowledge sessions on AI and robotics, global food security, cannabis cultivation, and adaptive greenhouse design. Join industry leaders and innovators from around the world to explore the future of horticulture.

The event will be held from 10 to 12 June at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre.

On the Vision Stage, two insightful sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, 10 June. From 10:15 to 11:00, Carlo van de Weijer from TU Eindhoven and Gabriël van der Kruijk from Koppert will present 'Remarkable trends in AI & Robotics.' Following this, from 11:00 to 11:45, Richard Harrison from Wageningen University & Research and Rien Koomen from Aeres will discuss 'Global food security: Sustainable collaborations by the Netherlands.'

On the Data/Tech Stage, two engaging sessions will take place. On Tuesday, 10 June, from 14:45 to 15:30, Henry Gordon-Smith from Agritecture will moderate a session titled 'Growing berries in the snow: Latest innovations from Canada and the homegrown: Innovation challenge.' The following day, Wednesday, 11 June, from 14:45 to 15:30, a session on 'Energy efficiency: Data robotics and AI, crop optimization, light energy water' will be presented by Egon Janssen from TNO, Feije de Zwart from Wageningen University & Research, David de Best from TNO, Jesse Verbeke from Phormium, and Florin Munteanu from Sera Intelligence AG.

On the Crops/VF Stage, a session titled 'AI species expeditions: How AI is developing and offering opportunities for horticulture' will be presented by Rodolfo Groenewoud van Vliet from In4art. This session is scheduled for Thursday, 12 June, from 12:45 to 13:15.

On the Medicinal Plants Stage, two informative sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, 11 June. From 14:15 to 15:00, Sonny Moerenhout and Kjell Sneeuw from Cultivators, Dominique van Gruisen from Innexo, and Mexx Holweg from Wageningen University & Research will present 'Cutting-edge research: Transforming cannabis cultivation.' Following this, from 15:00 to 15:45, Sonny Moerenhout from Cultivators and Ben Nikaj from Grodan will discuss 'Root zone dynamics: Optimizing growth through effective management.'

On the Deep Dive Stage, several insightful sessions are planned. On Tuesday, 10 June, from 11:20 to 11:40, Sjaak Bakker from DigiVation will present 'Complex knowledge, simply understood.' Later that day, from 13:15 to 13:45, Ties van Bruinessen from RoboHouse and Jacqueline Kroon from Glastuinbouw Nederland will discuss 'The future of work in horticulture.' On Wednesday, 11 June, from 13:15 to 13:45, Indy Bernoster from Gibbs Analytics Consulting will present 'Robotics and labor costs: Strategic choices for sustainable growth.' Finally, on Thursday, 12 June, from 13:15 to 13:45, Liesbeth Leurs and Joeri van den Hoek from RoboCrops will present 'Grower meets AI.'
