GrowerIQ has been selected to represent Team Canada on the upcoming trade mission to Thailand. Organized by Global Affairs Canada, this high-level delegation showcases innovative Canadian companies poised for international growth. GrowerIQ is the only cannabis-related business selected to participate. "Being the only cannabis company selected for the Team Canada Trade Mission to Thailand is a huge honor," says Andrew Wison Founder & CEO of GrowerIQ. "Thailand's medical cannabis industry is growing incredibly quickly and so it's a strategically important market. Nothing beats the level of relationship-building possible when you meet face-to-face. We're looking forward to meeting new producers and reconnecting with all of our wonderful clients on the ground."
This is not the first time GrowerIQ participates in a trade mission. Recently, they also flew to Australia for the Canada/Australia trade mission. "It was a very impactful experience," Andrew remarks. "We met many Australian top producers, many of whom now use GrowerIQ to run their business more efficiently."
This new mission reflects Thailand's growing importance in the global medical cannabis market. Since legalizing medical cannabis in 2022, Thailand has emerged as Southeast Asia's pioneer in regulated cannabis development with a projected CAGR of 33% over the next five years.
The goal of this mission is on the one hand to showcase innovative Canadian companies. On the other hand, the goal is also to expand commercial links between leading companies in Canada and Thai counterparts. "We hope to increase our links to Thailand," Andrew says. "The Canadian Global Affairs team is very invested in our success abroad and have a mandate to support leading Canadian companies in strategic markets around the world, which we appreciate. GrowerIQ's inclusion on this mission underscores its position as the trusted cannabis compliance partner for producers and government regulators around the world."
One such partner is Kush Holdings, a GACP-certified cultivation site established by the publicly listed Thonburi Healthcare Group (THG) in Thailand. "They do medicinal production in conjunction with one of the most respected operators of private hospitals and clinics in the country," Andrew explains. Kush is the grow operation setup by Thonburi Healthcare Group which counts 11+ hospitals. "They needed high grade medicinal cannabis for their patients and for wellness programs. Using GrowerIQ made sense since it's designed for high grade GMP production, and supports producers in 24 countries around the world."
Tim, CEO of Kush, shared, "GrowerIQ allows us to collect and maintain batch data effortlessly, customize reports and SOPs for operational growth, and manage our daily operations with full transparency. Their platform is integral to how we run our medical cannabis business."
