The Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), Brig Gen Maxwell Obuba Mantey, has praised Morocco's government for its continuous support for Ghana's progress since independence.
He revealed that the Commission plans to engage regulatory bodies responsible for the cannabis license in Morocco to learn success stories about pragmatic ways for dealing with the activation and operationalization of the cannabis license.
He said this when the Management of NACOC, as part of its strategy for activating and executing the cannabis license, on Wednesday 16, July, 2025 paid a courtesy call to Her Excellency, Mrs. Imane Quaadil, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, at her office in Accra.
The call was primarily intended to boost partnerships related to Ghana's cannabis license regulation, with Morocco serving as one of the models for the cannabis regulations and implementation. Brig Gen Mantey used the meeting to request that the Ambassador considers providing avenues for the Commission to network and engage with key parties responsible for illegal drug control in Morocco.
