Dutch Lighting Innovations has announced that Mexx Holweg is the company's new Technical Solution Manager & Crop Advisor.
Mexx completed his Bachelor's in Applied Biology at HAS University of Applied Sciences in Den Bosch, combining his studies with practical work as a landscape gardener. He went on to earn both his Master's degree in Plant Sciences (Specialisation in Greenhouse Horticulture) and a PhD at Wageningen University & Research, specialising in plant physiology with a strong focus on photobiology in medicinal cannabis.

His PhD research centered on optimizing light strategies for indoor-grown medicinal cannabis, with the aim of improving yield, consistency, and cannabinoid profiles through light spectrum manipulation and crop steering.
Mexx is passionate about applied science and bridging the gap between research and practice. With his deep understanding of crop responses to light, he is perfectly positioned to advise growers and help them achieve maximum results using scientifically grounded strategies.
