US (MI): 29 businesses fined for July violations

In July, state regulators imposed fines on 29 cannabis businesses for a range of violations, including selling excessive amounts of marijuana and failing to tag products with compliance stickers. Eleven of these businesses are located in metro Detroit and were collectively fined $169,100. These actions were part of the Cannabis Regulatory Agency's ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with state regulations.

Detroit-based Inhale Detroit faced a hefty fine of $40,000 for multiple issues, such as expanding their lobby without approval, neglecting to add monitoring tags on some products, failing to report a break-in, and lacking the last 30 days of required surveillance footage. Doghouse Supreme Cannabis, another Detroit cultivator, was fined $20,000 for not tagging hundreds of cannabis packages, failing to track waste, and not notifying the state about changes to a grow room.

Apollo Cannabis Company, also in Detroit, was fined a total of $49,000 for several violations, including not verifying medical marijuana cards and selling more than the permitted amount of marijuana to patients. Additional fines were imposed for violations such as untagged inventory, missing surveillance footage, and employing staff without notifying authorities. Mood Provisioning Center in Centerline received fines for prohibited items on counters and missing surveillance recordings, totaling $9,850.
