Peru releases draft regulation on industrial hemp development

The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) today published the draft Supreme Decree approving the regulations of Law No. 32195, related to the agricultural development of hemp for industrial use. The aim is to collect comments, contributions, opinions, and suggestions from public agencies, private companies, and the general public.

Law No. 32195 intends to create the legal framework for the production, supervision, and marketing of hemp for industrial purposes. It applies to any individual or organization, whether public or private, domestic or foreign, involved in activities related to this law.

MIDAGRI has set a period of ninety (90) calendar days, starting the business day after the publication of this Ministerial Resolution No. 0319-2025-MIDAGRI in the newspaper "El Peruano," for receiving feedback from public agencies, private entities, and the general public.

The regulation text, its annexes, and the explanatory memorandum are available on the official website of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (www.gob.pe/midagri).

Additionally, the General Directorate of Agricultural Development and Agroecology is responsible for receiving, consolidating, systematizing, and analyzing comments, contributions, opinions, and suggestions regarding the draft regulation.
