Forteco® Fusion is the latest addition to the Forteco family, developed in response to the high demand for organic substrates for vegetable cultivation. At Van der Knaap's location in the Netherlands, the slabs are filled with high-quality coco substrate. Plant holes are made according to the customer's wishes. The coco growbags are made to customer specifications and are therefore ready for immediate use.
Forteco Fusion coco growbags are available in two sizes: 80 cm and 100 cm. They have an air content of ±30 vol%. After purchase, Van der Knaap's account managers can support growers with technical cultivation advice.
Availability
Given the high demand for organic substrates, Van der Knaap have made this product available all year round. Van der Knaap have also been able to achieve a lead time of just a few weeks. An ideal and additional opportunity for growers.

Recycling
Forteco Fusion growbags are made from 100% coco material, which is an organic material. After use, Van der Knaap can take back the slabs, subject to certain conditions. After recycling and processing by a specialized recycling company, coco can be reused for other crops and applications. This gives the substrate a second life.
Advantages of coco substrate
Van der Knaap has been processing coco in substrates for many years. Forteco coco growbags are ideal for growing various types of vegetables. Coco has good cultivation properties; it is airy and very easy to control. Because the company has its own production locations, Van der Knaap guarantee quality and delivery reliability.
During trials with vegetable crops in Van der Knaap's innovation center, the company was able to demonstrate, using the Soil Life Monitor and Next Generation Sequencing (carried out by Eurofins), that a rich and varied micro-life develops during cultivation in coco substrate. An active soil life can contribute to a resilient, stress-resistant plant that is more resistant to all kinds of diseases and pests.
