According to newly released data from the Division of Cannabis Control, total legal sales reached $3,016,366,754 as of September 6. Of this amount, adult-use marijuana accounted for roughly $785.5 million, while medical marijuana sales topped $2.23 billion. Adult-use sales began on August 6, 2024, while medical cannabis sales began in 2019.
The state's legal cannabis market has generated 454,795 pounds of plant material and 44,003,128 "units of manufactured product," ranging from edibles to concentrates and topicals. This output highlights not only consumer demand for traditional flower but also growing interest in processed cannabis products.
As of September 12, the state has 165 dual-use dispensaries, 46 processors, 37 cultivators, and eight testing labs. In addition, there are 547 physicians with "Certificates to Recommend," ensuring continued access for medical patients—who can purchase cannabis tax free and have higher possession limits—while supporting the expanding adult-use system.
According to the Division of Cannabis Control, the average price per gram of cannabis is $6.54 as of September 6, a significant decline from the high of nearly $10.
