US: Registration open for Fourth Annual National Indigenous Cannabis Policy Summit

Registration is open for the Indigenous Cannabis Industry Association's (ICIA) fourth annual National Indigenous Cannabis Policy Summit. The 2025 Summit, scheduled for November 11–13 in Washington, D.C., will be held under the theme "Breaking Down Barriers, Beyond Borders: Indigenous Rising in Plant Medicine."

At a pivotal moment in history, Indigenous leaders, innovators, and knowledge keepers are coming together to advance the cannabis and hemp industries through sovereignty, equity, and sustainability. The Summit serves as a call to action to dismantle systemic barriers, transcend borders, and elevate Indigenous leadership in plant medicine.

The event is guided by a holistic vision that recognizes cannabis as more than a medicinal plant. It acknowledges its industrial, medicinal, and economic potential while emphasizing the balance between ancestral knowledge and modern frameworks. The gathering aims to strengthen pathways for future generations by integrating cultural values with innovation to ensure cannabis and hemp industries support community prosperity and purpose.

The annual Summit provides a platform to center Indigenous perspectives in the rapidly growing cannabis sector, which is projected to reach nearly $45 billion in revenue by 2025. It also addresses cannabis as a public health issue, highlighting its role as a plant-based alternative to opioids—a crisis that continues to disproportionately affect Indigenous populations.

The national event convenes Tribal leaders, policymakers, business representatives, healthcare professionals, veterans' groups, and advocacy organizations to examine the future of plant-based medicine in Indian Country. It will address key questions about Indigenous engagement in the cannabis industry and related sectors. Participants will leave the three-day conference with practical insights into sustainable cannabis operations and their impacts on Indigenous communities.
