Superior Cannabis shuts down two Minnesota stores, explores move into cultivation

Superior Cannabis will close its retail sites in Austin and Duluth on December 1, according to a statement shared by company founder Jeff Brinkman on the firm's Facebook page. The decision ends a seven year run for the two locations, which Brinkman described as years shaped by loyal customers and committed staff.

In the Facebook post, Brinkman thanked employees and urged customers to visit the stores while they remain open. The company will also keep its online shop running until existing inventory is sold out.

Superior Cannabis is not stepping away from the industry entirely. According to Brinkman, the company intends to shift its focus to a cultivation program aimed at delivering consistent quality products to its established customer base. Further details on the planned transition were not provided in the announcement.
