Lawmakers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, recently approved a medical cannabis policy modernization measure. The decision by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina comes after years of hard work by cannabis advocates.
"The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) has adopted a decision to legalize cannabis for medical purposes." reported Vijesti in its local coverage. "This information was published on Facebook by Saša Magazinović, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the BiH Parliament, stating that it is the result of years of struggle, perseverance and facing numerous obstructions."
The nation's approved measure includes defined qualifying conditions; requirement of a doctor's prescription and approval; strict record-keeping; regulated production and distribution; and it establishes restrictions for sales and storage.
