US (MI): Cannabis Regulatory Agency fines two Oakland County companies

Michigan's cannabis regulatory agency has fined two marijuana companies with Oakland County ties for violating state regulations. Green Zone Michigan, at Building A on an industrial campus at 850 Ladd Road in Walled Lake, was fined $5,000 after a March 2025 inspection. Green Zone is a marijuana grower/processor.

During the routine visit, state regulators learned Green Zone had not retained the required 30 days of video surveillance recordings. Thirteen days of recordings were missing. The state inspection also found that the building has insufficient camera coverage for entry and exit points. As part of the agreement, Green Zone replaced its recorder, added two cameras and repositioned a third. In April 2025, the company passed a second inspection.

Green Zone received a license in August 2024 and has no prior violations. The company is in the same multi-building complex as a separate marijuana business Prism Triangle (Building B). Prism is a safety-compliance company being investigated by the state for not employing a lab manager, not using state-approved testing methods and not meeting state standards for sampling and testing marijuana and marijuana products.

The other Oakland County marijuana business fined by the state is Detour, an adult-use marijuana processor at 630 E. 10 Mile Road in Hazel Park. The company was fined $5,000 for making unauthorized transfers of marijuana to a separately-owned company. The state allows transfers with specific guidelines which were not met in this case.
