US (FL): Cathedral City revokes dispensary license over odor complaints

The Cathedral City Council has voted to deny the renewal of a cannabis dispensary license connected to an indoor growing operation that has generated persistent odor complaints from nearby residents.

In a 3-2 vote, council members upheld a staff decision not to renew the permit for Cat City Cannabis Company, commonly known as C4. City officials cited the business's failure to demonstrate consistent public operating hours as a key factor in the decision.

The company operates a large indoor cannabis grow facility that has drawn ongoing complaints from residents at the nearby Outdoor Resort Palm Springs RV community. Neighbors say strong cannabis odors regularly drift into surrounding neighborhoods, creating long-standing concerns about air quality and quality of life.

City officials had previously halted C4's expansion plans while investigating the complaints. That review also led to changes in local cannabis regulations, including stricter odor control requirements for cultivation operations. C4 has said it plans to address the odor concerns, but residents report the problem continues.
