The New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) has recalled various cannabis products out of precaution after finding that results reported from a testing laboratory were "unreliable."
OCM says that it found a total of 54 product lots that had a false result for Aspergillus, a disease-causing mold. Another product lot had incorrect results for heavy metal Cadmium, OCM says.
"When test results are inaccurate or unclear, product safety and in turn, the safety of New York State consumers cannot be guaranteed," said Stephen Geskey, Executive Deputy Director of Licensing, Compliance and Laboratories for OCM. "It is not a risk OCM is willing to take."
This information comes following inspections and a records audit of Keystone State Testing New York between December 2025 and January 2026. According to OCM, there have been no reports of effects caused by the consumption of any of the products.
