With a $300,000 state grant, the owners of Seaside Cannabis Co. shop in Orleans plan to build downstairs offices, buy equipment and overhaul the first floor to give more prominence to the shop's cannabis-infused beverages.
"Seaside (Cannabis) sells three to five times more beverages on average because of our proximity to summertime activities," co-owner Tim McNamara said in a March 16 interview.
Those cases of Hi5 sodas, Nectar seltzers, and Squier's strawberry lemonades have been stored in a downstairs vault, he said. Some of the grant money will be used to modify the first floor so more beverages can be kept near the registers.
The business will use some of the grant money to pay for bookkeeping services, according to McNamara.
