Kelowna cannabis company Avant Brands switches course on European strategy

Kelowna cannabis company Avant Brands has reclaimed the German and Swiss brand rights to its top-selling product.

The company's subsidiary, GreenTec Holdings, has issued a formal notice of termination for its trademark licensing agreement with Adjupharm GmbH that was signed on May 1, 2024. That deal gave Adjupharm GmbH the trademark and distribution rights for the BLK MKT brand in Germany and Switzerland.

"As Avant continues to scale globally, it is essential that our international partnerships are fully integrated with our evolving operational standards and long-term vision," Avant Brands founder and CEO Norton Singhavon said in a press release. "Reclaiming the rights to BLK MKT in Germany and Switzerland is a strategic decision to consolidate our brand equity and optimize our trajectory in Europe.

"We are excited to engage with prospective partners who can support this next chapter of our international growth."
