New restrictions on adult-use cannabis went into effect across Ohio on Friday.
The group Ohioans for Cannabis Choice failed to collect enough valid signatures to place a referendum on the ballot this fall that may have stopped state lawmakers from implementing the rules.
The new law includes a ban on smoking cannabis in public, limits on THC levels, and a ban on possessing marijuana grown outside the state.
The law also prohibits the sale of THC beverages and other intoxicating hemp products outside state-licensed dispensaries.
