For the past several years, the MCPIR and Cultivation for Compounds (CfC) joint tour of their research facilities has become something of an unofficial cannabis opener to horti week Netherlands, a day for researchers, growers, and technology providers to get into the weeds before the broader horticultural industry descends on Amsterdam. In 2025, a Dutch public holiday pushed the event to the day after GreenTech rather than before it. This year, it returns to its traditional slot.
On June 8, the day before GreenTech Amsterdam opens at RAI, MCPIR and CfC will host a full-day medicinal cannabis event spanning two of the Dutch research corridor's most significant cultivation sites. The morning program takes place at MCPIR in Bleiswijk; the afternoon moves to CfC's location in Honselersdijk. Lunch is included, and bus transport from RAI Amsterdam is available for attendees traveling from the city.

The event is organized by two of the Netherlands' leading cannabis research consortia, and its format has remained consistent: presentations from researchers, growers, and site visits to have a peek at what MCPIR and CfC are cooking in their kitchens. The audience typically includes medicinal cannabis producers, technology suppliers, and scientific collaborators from across the globe.
GreenTech 2026 runs from June 9 to 11 at RAI Amsterdam, making the June 8 date a natural on-ramp for anyone already in the region for the broader horticultural week. Registration details are available through MCPIR and CfC directly, or you can message the organizers directly at [email protected]
