NL: CanAdelaar completes new odor filter setup

CanAdelaar has announced the successful completion of the installation of its advanced odor filter system.

"This significant step, completed in March 2026, underscores CanAdelaar's commitment to being a responsible neighbor and adhering to the highest operational standards in line with the ambitions of the Cannabis Experiment," said the company in a statement.

Substantial investment in odor reduction
CanAdelaar has made a substantial investment of over €3 million in advanced air purification technology at its cultivation facility. This new setup includes: More than 200 carbon filters for terpene neutralization at ground level. More than 70 ASPRA air filters mounted as roof units.

These specialized, multi-layered filters capture and neutralize odor-causing compounds in the greenhouse air. The purified air is then discharged outside. The latest upgrades of 100 filters became fully operational in March. Since the implementation of these systems, CanAdelaar have observed a noticeable reduction in odor complaints.

A stronger CanAdelaar through the Cronos Group
CanAdelaar's upcoming inclusion into Cronos strengthens the company's capabilities as a responsible community member, employer, and participant in the Dutch Cannabis Experiment. Cronos provides global expertise, R&D, and resources, which is expected to enable CanAdelaar to further optimize its operations and maintain high standards. CanAdelaar products will continue to be cultivated in the Netherlands, thus preserving local production and employment for employees. Both CanAdelaar and Cronos support the Cannabis Experiment and its goal of creating a well-regulated adult-use cannabis model.
