Louis Golaz has announced that he is stepping back from operational and strategic leadership at RED Horticulture, the company he co-founded. Louis has been involved with the company for nearly eight years. He served as CEO from June 2018 to August 2024 and most recently held the position of VP Strategy & Business Development from August 2024 until March 2026.
In a public statement, Louis said he is leaving day-to-day responsibilities and strategic leadership of the business and will take time to consider his next steps.
RED Horticulture develops LED lighting systems for greenhouse production. Its approach combines photobiology and agronomy research with sensor-based and AI-supported control systems. The company provides lighting solutions built around its RED T dynamic luminaires and the MyRED software platform, which enables growers to design, monitor, and adjust lighting strategies in real time. The PARC research center in Nantes was developed to research and optimise LED lighting
"When Yassine (El Qomri, co-founder) and I started this adventure, we had one ambition: to change how the greenhouse industry thinks about light. Looking back, I believe we did", Louis shares. "First controllable lighting commercialised at industrial scale in Europe. First software independent from a climate computer. First mutualized power controllable lighting system. And a product now trusted by growers across the world."
"None of that happened alone", Louis continues. "To the entire RED Horticulture team — thank you. For showing up, for believing, and for building something that didn't exist before. The road ahead is not easy. But I leave knowing the dream is in good hands."
