A new 2026 statewide research initiative is inviting Oklahoma Medical Marijuana patients and caregivers to share their experiences in a first-of-its-kind citizen science study focused on health outcomes, access, and patient perspectives. The anonymous and confidential study is designed to generate evidence that can inform policymakers, health care providers and public health leaders across Oklahoma.
The 2026 Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Patient Research Study is a citizen-science study led by the Cannabis Center of Excellence Inc., in partnership with Patients for Safe Access Oklahoma, and Synergistic Cannabis Consulting LLC.
This anonymous, five-minute online survey is open to Oklahoma residents who are Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) medical marijuana patients, or OMMA-approved caregivers, parents/guardians of pediatric patients who have consumed medical marijuana within the past 30 days. Patients can take the survey here.
Patients and the public are invited to learn about the study findings on July 1, 2026, through a webinar and report. Sign up for the study for more information.
"Patient-reported real-world data is essential to understanding how the medical marijuana program in Oklahoma impacts real lives," said Dr. Marion McNabb, the study's principal investigator. "Data from this research study can help inform policymakers and the public about the benefits and risks of medical marijuana use, grounding the program in patient voice and experience.
