Sunnyside Produce, a long-standing leader in premium greenhouse-grown Peppers is seeking an experienced Chief Greenhouse Grower to lead and scale our expanding operations. With 34 hectares currently in production in Peppers, 8 additional hectares under development in Tomatoes on a new location and plans for another 8 hectares in the near future, this is a rare opportunity to take a senior leadership role at one of Canadaโ€™s premier greenhouse facilities.

We proudly operate using advanced Priva climate control systems, helping us grow top-tier Peppers for domestic and international markets.

The Role:
As Chief Greenhouse Grower, youโ€™ll oversee crop production across our existing and expanding facilities, lead a skilled team of growers, and drive improvements in efficiency, sustainability, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee integration and startup of new 8-hectare expansions
  • Utilize Priva systems to optimize climate, irrigation, and fertigation strategies
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of growers and support staff
  • Monitor crop health, production metrics, and quality standards
  • Collaborate on R&D, varietal trials, and process innovation
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, labor, and environmental standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in large-scale greenhouse tomato production
  • In-depth knowledge of Priva systems, hydroponics, and IPM
  • Proven leadership and staff management capabilities
  • Degree or diploma in horticulture, agronomy, plant science, or related field
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
