Business Development Manager Horticulture LED Solutions
Querétaro, México
Job Summary
As Business Development Manager (based in Querétaro or region), you’ll be responsible for identifying and generating new business areas/opportunities, customer onboarding as well as managing a select group of active accounts.
- Responsible for sales target delivery across a broad portfolio of Philips horticultural lighting products and systems ensuring profitability, market share capture, driving overall business growth.
- Utilize your understanding of the Horticultural market, ecosystem and network in the growth of existing and new customers.
- Generate new business opportunities through independent scouting of internal and external sources, thus filling the sales pipeline via cold acquisition.
- Determine the attractiveness of identified business ideas and develop compelling business cases, in order to get qualification by management and the necessary budget for further development into a business plan.
- Build and foster relationships with selected key accounts to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction with these accounts.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders and clients to support business growth and partnership opportunities.
- Accountable for entire business with the named account, personally driving most important transactions (projects or sell-in).
- Work closely with internal support teams to tailor solutions, meet client needs effectively, build detailed forecasts and resource planning based on the opportunity pipeline.
- Develops the final business plan, including the implementation (project scope, content, deliverables, milestones, budget), such that management is able to decide on the project and the financial risks.
- Leads the complete execution of the business plan, including cooperation with external partner and development of new sales channels.
- Monitors market trends and competitor activities to adjust business development strategies accordingly.
More about you

- Bachelor's or Master's degree completed in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, providing foundational knowledge in business strategy and market analysis.
- + 6 years of experience in business development or sales roles, with proven success in achieving sales targets and developing new business opportunities in Horticulture and/or Agriculture.
- Proven cultivation knowledge to be able to be a good sparring partner for the grower and be able to give some general cultivation advise.
- Interest in and understanding of the principles of lighting (systems, light plans).
- Fluent in English and Spanish is a MUST.
- You are a team player, forward thinker who can deal with business dynamics and enjoys working independently and hands-on.
- You’re willing to travel nationally and internationally to build new business (25%).
