A software to find them all

Cannabiz Media has created a database software to do research and find information about operators throughout the cannabis and hemp supply chains in the US, Canada and now across the globe. “We aim to simplify business development for companies and individuals looking to expand within the cannabis and hemp industries,” says Ed Keating, chief data officer with Cannabiz Media.

A software to find them all
According to Ed, this software allows vendors to see what license holders are doing, giving them all sorts of information, from the status of their licenses, the type of operations, to the brands of the equipment they are using. “Every license, company and contact has a unique identifier. Our customers use the software to check the status of a given license, and to make sure they are working with legitimate partners. We have a whole team focusing on gathering this data.”

To make the search easier, the software works with a set of filters that allows users to focus on the specific thing they are most interested in. “For instance, I want to know how many growers are in California, and what kind of licenses they hold.,” Ed continues.

Thanks to a constant search, the database is always up to date, providing information on the latest changes within this or that company or operation. “All the contacts are verified, together with social media links, e-mails, addresses, and who they are owned by,” says Ed. “We track company contacts, news about licenses, and even violations.”

Another functionality is the customer management system. “Through this function, users can put notes, tasks, deals, and they can track everything from here.”

Staying constantly up to date
An important feature for sales people is the newsletter function, which allows users to be up to date with the companies they are following. “This way, users receive directly in their mailboxes the latest news and changes on a given license,” says Ed. “In addition to that, we have built a sophisticated email management system that lets our customer target the licenses and people they need to reach. Our software handles more cannabis related-email than any other platform.”

“We are working to get license holders to use our system,” Ed says. “For instance, they could use it to find people to buy or sell their product, or maybe they want to know what kind of equipment a given grower is using. We also show the State License ID, because growers need to know if they are dealing with other license holders, as these are the only ones with whom growers can do business.”
