A proposed 112,000-square-foot facility for growing cannabis has been approved by the Framingham Planning Board.
The board's approval on Aug. 15 moves the permitting process ahead for Commonwealth Farm, which is planning the indoor growing facility at Eastleigh Farm at 1062 Edmands Road.
Commonwealth Farm has said it plans for provisional Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission approval by next January and to start construction in February. It would receive final state approval by next September and open that fall.
Commonwealth Farm is proposed to grow, package and ship cannabis for area retail shops, employing 100 full- and part-time workers.
