The Massachusetts state has lifted its roughly monthlong suspension on six licenses held by cannabis business Nova Farms Wednesday.
Nova Farms plans to open a retail cannabis shop in Framingham early next year, in the former Papa Gino's building on Rte. 9. The company is still working through the state’s licensing process for the shop, but secured one of Framingham’s six host community agreements at the end of August.
“We’re delighted with the release and withdrawal of our suspension order,” Nova Farms Chief Operating Officer Blair Fish said Thursday. “It’s a relief.”
The state’s Cannabis Control Commission suspended Nova Farm’s licenses on Sept. 6, stopping all work, when it launched an investigation into the company. Mark Rioux, listed as having ownership or control of Nova Farms licenses, had just been criminally charged with conspiracy to commit cannabis trafficking.
