The village of Barryton is one step closer to having its first cannabis greenhouse as the council voted to approve six permits during its Wednesday evening meeting. "It was a full house," Village Pro-Tem Kathryn Kerr said. "Everything passed."
According to Kerr, the Council had the opportunity to vote on whether they would allow a group called M66 Group LLC to have a cannabis greenhouse permit, as well as other permits, in the village. Other permits included a recreational provisioning center, a grow facility, a consumption center and more.
According to Todd Levitt, attorney spokesperson for the group, M66 is a Michigan LLC with the purpose of participating in Michigan legal cannabis laws.
"M66 is a company that is involved in utilizing the licenses that the state and the local communities allow to do everything from opening up a provisioning center to running grow operations," Levitt said in a previous interview. "I think it's important for these communities that decide to opt-in to make sure they team up with organizations that are there to work as a team with the local community leaders and the residents of those communities to provide those benefits.
