With an increasing number of states in the US deeming cannabis businesses as essential, the distinction between medical and recreational is becoming more clear, as in states like Illinois or Massachusetts, medical cannabis stores remained open, while the recreational one were closed.
According to a study, the only difference between recreational and medical is however only the store in which these are sold. The paper shows how the level of THC found in medical cannabis is a bit higher than it should. The research concludes that the level of THC in both medical and recreational products is fairly similar. “Despite the clear differences between medicinal and recreational uses of cannabis, the average THC concentration advertised online in medicinal programs was similar,” the study reads.
According to the authors of the research, such concentrations are unsuitable for medicinal purposes.” this information could induce the misconception that high potency cannabis is safe to treat pain.”
