CAN (ON): Oro-Medonte cannabis producer facing growing demand

Growing demand for cannabis has one local company looking to add up to 20 people to its team. Carmel Pharms will be holding a job fair June 17, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., at its Oro-Medonte operation at 837 Line 7 S.

“With increasing sales in Ontario and demand for craft product, we have purchase orders that we need to meet,” said Carmel co-founder Roey Fishman. “We’re looking for people, especially local people, to help us achieve those goals.”

Positions are available in processing, packaging, quality control/assurance, trimming and sanitation. Carmel is also adding an afternoon/evening shift, with positions available in production. The company currently only has a day shift.

“We had planned for it,” Fishman said of the eventual growth of the business, “but it maybe happened quicker than we thought.”
