Bosnia-Herzegovina on track to allow MMJ

The Bosnian government is taking a close look at the legalization of medical cannabis. For the use of cannabis for medical purposes to finally be legalized in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is no longer enough for the Commission for the Suppression of Drug Abuse to submit a proposal to the Council of Ministers, which will make a simple decision at its session, the Sarajevo Times reports.

As the preliminary work has already been initiated, it is now up to the state ministers and the current government to make the decision to legalize the use of medicinal cannabis. The Commission for the Suppression of Drug Abuse is expected to be held as early as this week.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Security decided to move forward following information from the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) that the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs had removed cannabis from the list of prohibited substances.
