A $75,000 state grant will aid Vista in assessing social equity in potential cannabis industries in the city, officials recently announced.
The grant comes from the Cannabis Equity Grant for Local Jurisdictions program, offered through the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development. Funds will go toward the hiring of a consultant with the goal of building a social equity program for cannabis cultivation and related businesses in Vista, according to a city announcement.
With the grant in place, the city will now search for a consulting firm and develop an assessment process.
