How a new medical cannabis company promises odor control at South Jersey site

City officials started registering resident complaints about odor not long after the first medical cannabis growing and manufacturing operation opened here. And the complaints keep stacking up.

Vineland is hoping the newest entrant to the local cannabis sector will live up to its odor control promises.

Veterans for Alternative Medicine South Jersey LLC got its conditional license from Trenton in March 2022. On February 8, city planners approved the company’s design for a facility at 17 West Park Ave.

Blake J. Costa, a Rhode Island resident who owns the company, testified the company has studied odor control intensively since it was founded five years ago and opened a facility in his own state.
