Batist Kassenbouw builds total project in Portugal

In southern European Portugal, far in the hinterland, a new Venlo horticultural project is taking shape. Commissioned by Dutch Greenhouses from Naaldwijk, Batist Kassenbouw is building a completely new greenhouse project. The approximately 5,000 m2 greenhouse project consists of a combined horticultural greenhouse and business premises. The 6.00-meter-high greenhouse section is divided into several smaller cultivation areas. The business space includes three separate processing areas for the harvested crop.

Batist Kassenbouw has been active at home and abroad for almost 40 years. With its own machinery, a team of Westland greenhouse builders realizes a steel construction, aluminum roof, and façade systems, roof and façade glazing, and sandwich roof panels. Finally, Batist mechanics also assemble the complete air mechanism.

Under the clear blue sky, the mechanics work long days with great pleasure to stay within the tight schedule. With special transport, several aerial platforms, telehandlers, and company buses have already been transported well ahead. The more than 2,000 km one-way trip was carried out by a specialist in aerial work platform transport. The mechanics have been flown in and are staying in accommodations chosen together with Dutch Greenhouses. Locally, all in-house tools are on hand to expertly assemble everything.

Meanwhile, Batist Kassenbouw has reached the end of the project, and other parties can move in. For instance, the screen installer and lamp supplier have also already spread their wings in Portugal to shade the sun and light the crop.

The complete site layout will be realized by local parties and will take a few more weeks. The project will be commissioned around the construction period. By then, Batist Kassenbouw will have left Southern Europe.

And so Portugal has gained another horticultural project, in this case for growing cannabis, which was realized with a lot of expertise from various Westland horticultural suppliers.
