A pair of cannabis companies want to grow cannabis and make edibles side-by-side on Sherwood Drive.
KBD Associates wants to make marijuana edibles at 30 Sherwood Drive, and Tower 3 wants to grow marijuana at the same address — which is in a commercial zone that borders a residential neighborhood on High Street.
KBD representative Michael Botelho said Tower 3 previously sought a special permit from the City Council to manufacture edibles, but the firm now wants to focus on growing cannabis plants instead.
“They figured it would be better to focus on cultivation, and we would then take over the manufacturing,” he said during a City Council meeting on June 20.
